  1. Mitti

Connecting Mitti

This guide walks you through connecting your Mitti account (formerly SafetyCulture) through Makini Link.
Set aside about 5 minutes. You'll need a Mitti API token.

Before you start#

The token sees what its owner sees. A Mitti API token belongs to a user, and the connection can only reach what that user can see in Mitti. If the user only has access to some sites or groups, the connection only sees those too.
Use a shared integration user if you can. If the token belongs to your personal account, the connection stops working if you leave the company. A separate user set up just for this connection, in a group that can see across your whole organization, avoids that and gives the connection a complete view.

Step 1: Get an API token#

Create an API token in Mitti for the user from "Before you start". If you can't create one yourself, ask your Mitti administrator for it.
A Mitti API token is a long string that starts with scapi_. Copy the whole thing and paste it somewhere safe for a moment; a password manager is best.
Treat the token like a password. Anyone who has it can use Mitti as that user. Don't email it, don't put it in a chat message, don't save it in a shared document.

Step 2: Enter your credentials#

1.
Go back to the Makini Link tab.
2.
Fill in one thing:
API Token: the token from Step 1, starting with scapi_
3.
Click Connect.
The first sync can take a while on a large account. Mitti limits how quickly its data can be read, so the connection reads it at a steady pace.

Keeping the connection working#

Things that will break the connection
The token being revoked or deleted in Mitti: create a new token and enter it on the connection
The user who owns the token being removed or deactivated: set up another user, create a token for it, and enter that token on the connection
Things that change what comes through without breaking anything
Changing which sites or groups the token's user can see

If something goes wrong#

The connection failed right after I clicked Connect.
Some sites or records are missing.
It was working, now it isn't.
Still stuck?
Send us a note describing which step you're on and what you're seeing. Don't include the API token in that message.
