This guide walks you through connecting your Salesforce org through Makini Link.
Set aside about 15 minutes. You'll need your Salesforce org's My Domain address, and a client ID and client secret from an app your Salesforce administrator sets up for Makini.
You'll need help from your Salesforce administrator. Makini signs in to Salesforce as an app, using the OAuth 2.0 client credentials flow, not with a person's username and password. Setting that app up takes admin rights in Salesforce. If that isn't you, send them this guide.Use an app made just for this connection. A dedicated app keeps working when people change jobs, and your administrator can see exactly what it's used for.
Ask your Salesforce administrator to set up an app for Makini in your Salesforce org that allows the OAuth 2.0 client credentials flow, and to give you its client ID and client secret.
Treat the client secret like a password. Anyone who has it can sign in to your org as that app. Don't email it, don't put it in a chat message, don't save it in a shared document. A password manager is best.
Makini needs your org's own address, its My Domain. For a production org it looks like https://acme.my.salesforce.com. A sandbox has an address like https://acme--sandboxname.sandbox.my.salesforce.com.Enter only the address itself, starting with https:// and ending with salesforce.com. Leave off anything after it.
