This guide walks you through connecting your Schaeffler OPTIME account through Makini Link.
Set aside about 10 minutes once you have your API access details from Schaeffler. You'll need a client ID, a client secret and a token URL for the OPTIME Customer API.
Your access details come from Schaeffler. The OPTIME Customer API is machine-to-machine access: Makini signs in as an application, not as a person, so no one's OPTIME login is used. Schaeffler sets up that access for your company and issues the client ID and secret for it. If you don't have them yet, ask your Schaeffler contact, or use Schaeffler's technical support at schaeffler.de/en/technical-support.Keep the details somewhere safe. A password manager is best.
From your Schaeffler onboarding, or from your Schaeffler contact, get:
The client ID
The client secret
The token URL. It looks like https://login.microsoftonline.com/<tenant-id>/oauth2/v2.0/token, with a long identifier in place of <tenant-id>.
If you want to connect only one organization in your OPTIME account, also ask for that organization ID. Otherwise you don't need it.
Treat the client secret like a password. Anyone who has it can use your OPTIME API access. Don't email it, don't put it in a chat message, don't save it in a shared document.
Scope (optional): leave it blank. Makini then uses OPTIME's production scope, api://rest_lifetime_optime-prd/.default. Fill it in only if Schaeffler gave you a different scope.
Organization ID (optional): leave it blank to connect everything your access can see. Enter an organization ID only to limit the connection to that one organization.
