This guide walks you through connecting your Antero account through Makini Link.
Set aside about 15 minutes. Antero keeps its data in a Microsoft SQL Server database, so Makini connects to that database directly. You'll need the database server's address, the database name, and a SQL Server login for Makini. Whoever looks after that SQL Server at your company can give you all three.
You'll need help from your database administrator. Creating the login in Step 1 takes admin rights on the SQL Server. If that isn't you, send them this guide.Least privilege by design. Read access to the Antero database is all Makini needs, so the login can be read-only and your data stays exactly as it is.Use a login made just for this connection. Don't reuse a person's login or an admin account. A dedicated login keeps working when people change jobs, and your administrator can see exactly what it's used for.Makini connects to the SQL Server directly over the internet. The server must accept connections from Makini. If it only accepts connections from inside your network, contact us before you start, so we can agree how to reach it.
SQL Server host: the server's host name or IP address, for example antero-db.example.org
Port: already filled in with 1433. Change it only if your server uses a different port.
Database: the name of the Antero database, for example Antero
Username: the login from Step 1
Password: that login's password
2.
Under Advanced settings there are three optional fields. Most connections leave them as they are:
Time zone of stored dates: set to UTC by default. Change it only if your Antero database stores dates in local time. Use a time zone name such as America/New_York.
Schema: set to dbo by default. Change it only if your Antero tables live in a different schema.
Trust the server certificate: leave it on No, verify it. Choose Yes (self-signed certificate) only if your administrator confirms the SQL Server uses a self-signed certificate.
