The connection signs in as a StarRez user. It uses a StarRez username and password, and it can see and do exactly what that user's security group allows.Use a dedicated user, not a person's login. If you use your own login, the connection breaks whenever you change your password, and it stops working if you leave. Anything the connection changes in StarRez is also recorded under that user's name. A separate user set up just for this connection keeps its activity apart from yours. Ask your StarRez administrator to create one.Give that user the right security group. The user needs to be able to read the areas of StarRez you want to connect. If you also want Makini to create or update maintenance jobs, the user needs permission for that too. Your StarRez administrator sets this through the user's security group.StarRez may hide some records from some users. If the user can't see certain residents or bookings in StarRez, the connection can't see them either. Check with your StarRez administrator that the user can see everything you want to connect.Your StarRez license matters. Each school licenses different parts of StarRez. Parts your school doesn't license simply come through empty. They don't stop the connection from working.
This is the address your school uses for StarRez, for example https://yourschool.starrezhousing.com.Copy just that first part, starting with https:// and ending with .starrezhousing.com. Leave off anything after it. If you're not sure of the address, ask your StarRez administrator.
