Check your MaintainX plan. MaintainX offers API access on its Premium and Enterprise plans. If your plan doesn't include it, you won't be able to generate an API key.Generate the key from a shared company account if you can. A MaintainX API key belongs to the user who generates it and carries that user's permissions. If you generate it from your own personal login, the connection only sees what you can see, and it stops working if your account is removed from MaintainX. A dedicated account set up for integrations, with access to everything the connection needs, avoids all of that.
Sign in to MaintainX as the user from "Before you start".
2.
Go to Settings, then Integrations, then API Keys.
3.
Generate a new key.
4.
Copy the key and paste it somewhere safe for a moment. A password manager is best.
Treat the key like a password. Anyone who has it can act in MaintainX with that user's permissions. Don't email it, don't put it in a chat message, don't save it in a shared document.
